A Cultural Tour to Suzhou Museum
On March 25, Silk Road School organized students from China, Pakistan, Russia, Myanmar, Vietnam and other countries and regions to visit the Suzhou Museum to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture.
The new Suzhou Museum, designed by world-renowned Chinese architect Ieoh Ming Pei, has a rich collection of cultural relics and has become a landmark building that reflects the classic cultural temperament and distinctive regional characteristics of Suzhou.
First of all, teachers and students of SRS visited the traditional cultural relics on display in Suzhou Museum, such as the real pearl relic building, the porcelain lotus bowl with secret color, and the paintings of the faithful royal palace.
Then they came to the painting and calligraphy exhibition hall.
An elective Chinese traditional culture class student also recalled their learning of Chinese painting, initiative to the classmates around the introduction of "meticulous brushwork", "freehand brushwork", "blank" and other professional concepts.
There are two featured exhibitions in Suzhou Museum that day: "The Discovery and Inheritance of Dazu Stone Carvings from Haitang" and "Su Yun Colorful, Young Craftsmen Joint Exhibition".
While appreciating the stone carving art, the students also had a better understanding of the development and innovation of the grotto art originating from ancient India in China, and had a deeper understanding of the charm of Chinese culture.
The students of SRSnot only appreciated archaeological excavations, Ming and Qing paintings and handicrafts, but also learned about the achievements of the Suzhou government in promoting outstanding culture and serving the public.
It is hoped that the students of SRS can gradually "learn from the past and learn from the present" in their cultural study, and further examine the cohesion and development of the soft power of contemporary Chinese culture with Suzhou as the fulcrum.
