Culture trip to Dongshan
On April 7th, Silk Road School organized students from China, Pakistan, Russia, Costa Rica, South Korea, Bangladesh, Senegal, Somalia and other countries and regions to go to Dongshan town, Suzhou, visit the Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum and the Tea Mountain to learn the traditional techniques of picking and frying tea, and get a close experience of the unique charm of the Chinese tea culture.
The teachers and students visited the Jiangnan Tea Culture Museum first. Then, they went to the tea garden, experience tea picking, feel the joy of labor creation. With the fresh and tender leaves picked, they stepped into the tea making shop, to learn Chinese traditional manual tea making skills.
This trip to Dongshan has enabled SRS students to have a more systematic understanding of the growing environment and production of tea, tea culture and tea trade along the Silk Road, and deepened their understanding of the symbols of traditional Chinese culture.
