The fifteenth day of January (Lunar Calendar) is Lantern Festival, people spend the festival full of joy. On Feb 25, 2021,Silk Road School held an online activity to celebrate the Lantern Festival: Guessing Lantern Riddles .

Lantern Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. It originated from the ancient custom of lighting lanterns to pray for good fortune. In the process of development, a series of folk activities, such as appreciating lanterns, eating yuanxiao, guessing lantern riddles and setting off fireworks, have been developed. The online activity selected "Guessing Lantern Riddles" as the main activity form, combined with cultural sharing and Chinese teaching, to bring students a vivid and interesting festival cultural feast.

"Four people moving wood (杰)" "one person one cow (件)" "a little girl, sitting in the middle of the water, wearing a pink jacket, bursts of fragrance (荷花)"......The riddles are diverse, involving animals, plants, people, places and so on. With the help of Chinese students, the riddles were able to cross the language barrier so that every student could participate in. The students rushed to guess the endless riddles and enjoy the endless fun. 

The school took the opportunity of celebrating Lantern Festival to build a platform for friendly communication and interaction between teachers and students, which effectively strengthened the relationship between them, enhanced the friendship between each other, and enriched students' winter vacation life. In the new semester, the college will make persistent efforts to explore new models of caring for students, expand new ways of teaching and education, and promote the all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor for students of all over the word.
