Silk Road School held an Activity about Culture Sharing of Spring Festival Couplets
On February 8th, Silk Road School held the activity about culture sharing of Spring Festival couplets via the Tencent Meeting. Teachers and students of Silk Road School gathered online and shared a cultural feast. At the beginning of the event, Wang Hongli, the Director of SRS General Affairs office asked students about their life and study during the epidemic in detail, and gave new year wishes to the students on behalf of the school.
The Spring Festival culture has a long history and carries rich historical and cultural deposits in the process of inheritance and development. As a unique art form, Spring Festival couplets embody the essence of traditional culture of Chinese civilization and are of great value in carrying forward Chinese national culture. Two Chinese students from Silk Road School, Li Mengnan and Wang Mingzhu, brought a unique and lively knowledge sharing activity with the theme of Spring Festival couplets culture. Wang and Li showed the unique charm of Spring Festival couplets to students from all over the world through the vivid forms. In addition, in order to improve the students' Chinese proficiency and help them feel the atmosphere of the Spring Festival, the activities also set up a special teaching part of Chinese New Year greetings: "新年快乐" "阖家欢乐""恭喜发财,红包拿来" "你贴春联了吗?""你吃饺子了吗?"The students were learning how to use it and greeting each other in Chinese.
At the end of the activity, the students shared their experience of Chinese New Year and their learning experience of the Spring Festival couplets. Catalina from Costa Rica said, "The content of the event was very interesting. I not only learned a lot about Spring Festival couplets, but also learned how to paste the couplets in order. I will also paste a pair of Spring Festival couplets this year, especially the Chinese character 'Fu' upside down. 福“dao”了, Happy New Year!"
